I think this is the replica of the shoes that was thrown at George W Bush by a journalist during his trip to Iraq…hence it’s political connection.

Seems pretty simple..the sculpture commemorates the shoe thrown at Dubya by the Iraqi journalist who is presently in jail..any deeper fundae?
