X is a public service announcement campaign by Metro Trains in Melbourne, Australia to promote rail safety. The campaign went viral through sharing and social media starting in November 2012, getting almost 20 million views around the world in the first week.

It’s being hailed as one of the most innovative and effective safety awareness campaigns – very effective on kids especially – and it’s been winning some big awards at the Webbys and the Cannes Lions.

It is now in the form of numerous apps, a Tumblr, and a karaoke video.
